Young Designers/Students Housing Design Competition

The goal of this competition is to promote excellence in socially progressive housing design by young designers. For the purposes of this competition, “housing” is defined as multi-unit dwellings or single-family dwellings that can serve as prototypes; “high-end” or luxury single-family dwellings are eligible only if the designer demonstrates clearly and convincingly that aspects of the design are applicable to the housing needs of the general population. Undergraduate and graduate students currently in architecture school anywhere in the world and individuals who have earned their architecture degrees within the last five years are invited to enter this competition.

The sponsor of this competition is the Boston Society of Architects, and the jury is comprised of: Peter Wiederspahn AIA, Wiederspahn Architecture; Susanne Schindler, Utile; John Hong AIA, Single Speed Design LLP; and David Parish, Federal Home Loan Bank Boston.

The registration deadline is February 17, 2006 and the entry deadline is March 17, 2006. The entry fee is $25; modest cash awards may be provided at the discretion of the jury.
