IQ Business Media—publisher of leading titles that serve Canada’s Built Environment, including Canadian Architect, Canadian Interiors and Building magazines—is seeking a full-time Online Editor to support the three magazine websites.
The ideal candidate is passionate about digital publishing and can supply the high-quality content that our audience has come to expect. You are enthusiastic, organized and appreciate attention to detail.
Main tasks include:
- Monitoring industry news and events to source timely and relevant content that is topical, interesting and informative;
- Writing, editing and posting online content;
- Managing and moderating public interaction through social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram);
- Creating e-newsletters for the three titles using content posted to the websites;
- Editing images and developing multi-media content for the magazine websites;
- Monitoring and working to maintain high levels of online viewership and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in journalism or a combination of schooling and demonstrated experience;
- Portfolio of published work online or in print;
- Demonstrated results managing content in the digital landscape;
- Proficiency with WordPress, basic image editing and social media;
- Excellent written communication skills, editing, and proofreading skills;
- Good visual sense with an eye for detail;
- Ability to self-manage in a fast-paced environment;
- Self-confidence, self-motivation and resilience.
