ULI Hines Competition now accepting applications

The ULI Hines Competition is an urban design and development challenge for graduate students. The competition challenges multidisciplinary student teams to devise a comprehensive development program for a real large-scale site. Teams of five students representing at least three disciplines have two weeks to develop solutions that include drawings, site plans, tables and market-feasible financial data.

Successful real estate development and design in the 21st century requires intensive collaboration across disciplines and sectors. With this competition, you will have the chance to form a multidisciplinary team with four other graduate students in the United States or Canada and tackle a real land use challenge in a US city.

Sponsored by Gerald D. Hines, this is an ideas competition; there is no expectation that any of the submitted schemes will be applied to the site. The winning team will receive $50,000 and the finalist teams $10,000 each.

December 8, 2014 is the deadline to apply as a team; notification of eligibility will be done by December 15, 2014. Finalist teams will be announced from January 12-26, 2015 and a site visit by a representative from each finalist team is scheduled for March 2015. Final presentations and the winner will be announced in April 2015.
