TSA Urban Affairs Forum: Ontario Place Revitalization
On Monday, October 29, 2012, join the Toronto Society of Architects for their October Urban Affairs Forum where they will be discussing the Revitalization of Ontario Place.
What is the latest thinking for the revitalization of Ontario Place? Is there a plan to integrate Ontario Place with the fabric of the city? What activities are anticipated there? What will be the fate of the heritage structures?
The vision exhibited in the Ontario Place Revitalization Minister’s Advisory Panel Report offers a new direction that will bring Ontario Place into the 21st century and over time create a new iconic public space that will celebrate its connection to the waterfront of Lake Ontario. The TSA is hosting a forum to discuss the ideas contained in the panel’s report and recommendations for next steps that the government must take to ensure the success of this revitalization project.
The forum will be moderated by Joe Lobko, Partner in DTAH, and will feature panelists John Tory, Chair of the Ontario Place Revitalization Minister’s Advisory Panel; Pina Petricone, Member of the Ontario Place Revitalization Minister’s Advisory Panel and Partner in Giannone Petricone Associates Inc. Architects; and Rich Couldrey of Infrastructure Ontario. Tory and Petricone will present an overview of the Report, and Couldrey will discuss next steps. Attendees will have an opportunity to raise questions for discussion.
The Urban Affairs Forum takes place at the Urbanspace Gallery, located at 401 Richmond Street West in Toronto. Refreshments will be served at 7:00pm, followed by the forum from 7:30pm to 9:30pm on Monday, October 29, 2012.
