Toronto’s Design Offsite Festival returns next year as DesignTO
Canada’s largest design celebration is back for its 9th year with a new look and identity. Long-known as the Toronto Design Offsite Festival, DesignTO will continue building a community that celebrates design culture in Canada. For 2019, DesignTO will bring 10 design-filled days from January 18 – 27, featuring over 100 free events, exhibitions, and window installations across the city.

Toronto Design Offsite Festival began in 2011 with 7 events and exhibitions. They’ve since grown to be an important platform with 100+ projects each year, forming Toronto’s design week and Canada’s largest celebration of design. Over 8 years, they’ve welcomed half a million attendees, worked with over 3,000 artists and designers, and cultivated a strong creative community. The support of community, funders, sponsors, and partners helped this “little festival that could” grow and shape design culture in Canada. Excited to mark this new chapter with a new name: DesignTO, they promise to continue to put people at the fore of what they do.
Collaborating with illustrator Adrian Forrow and graphic designer Trevor Embury, the TODO team were able to create a new image to reflect their growing platform. For over eight years, TODO has welcomed millions of attendees, worked with over 3,000 artists and designers, and cultivated a strong creative community.
“This gave occasion to revisit our branding. We’re thrilled to continue to work with Trevor Embury of aftermodern.lab on our visual communications, and also invite illustrator Adrian Forrow to create a new look and feel for DesignTO,” said Jeremy Vandermeij, Executive Director, DesignTO.
