Toronto’s Waterfront Revitalization in gear
Toronto’s East Bayfront has been implemented into the waterfront revitalization’s precinct planning processes with the first of three public and stakeholder consultation fora, recently hosted by the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation (TWRC). The East Bayfront comprises an area below a rail corridor between Jarvis and Cherry Streets. A number of new urban districts, including West Donlands, are to be created on Toronto’s central waterfront. A precinct plan is being developed in order to present knowledge about people, potential, and places of each local precinct. Koetter Kim and Associates are lead consultants for the East Bayfront plan, while parks and public spaces will be designed by Phillips Farevaag Smallenberg. The team for the East Bayfront also includes GHK International, BA Group, LEA Consulting Ltd. and Sustainable Edge.
