Toronto flings open its doors at the end of May

148 buildings are included in this year’s Doors Open Toronto, which takes place the weekend of May 28 and 29, 2005. No tickets or pre-registration is required, and admission is free to all buildings. Many buildings are open both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, but some buildings have more limited hours.

Some highlights include the historic and impressive Canada Permanent Building and Canada Life Building, constructed in 1930 and 1931 respectively. Considerably younger and in a completely different vein, the Phillip Johnson-designed Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Headquarters is also taking part in this event on both days. And very new projects such as the delightful Camera by Hariri Pontarini Architects opens its doors to reveal the jewel-like interior of caf, bar, and digital screening room.
