Toronto 2020: Where Will We Live?
Curated by Larry Wayne Richards, Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design along with Assistant Curator Andrew MacMillan, the exhibition is organized in five sections: The Periphery, Tower Living, Community Living, Affordable Living, and Smart Living. Drawings, photographs, and diagrams present a broad overview of Toronto’s rapidly changing architecture and urbanism.
Finally the exhibition presents the question: Should Toronto have a housing exposition or annual housing festival? Should there be a dynamic place where citizens, developers, politicians, and designers can obtain information, explore innovative ideas, and participate collectively in the shaping of Toronto’s housing options?
WORKshop is a design centre located in the concourse at 80 Bloor Street West. Cofounded in 2009 by Kin Yeung and Larry Wayne Richards, WORKshop includes a product design studio, retail shop and gallery.
The exhibition runs from July 28 to November 28, 2015. WORKshop hours are: Tuesday to Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday from 12:00 noon to 6:00pm.
