The Museum of Modern Art to Present the Exhibition Tall Buildings at MoMA QNS

Tall Buildings, the latest MoMA exhibition to investigate new horizons in architecture and engineering, focuses on skyscrapers and their place in the twenty-first century. The exhibition features 25 buildings, many of them not yet constructed and some that exist only as proposals. The buildings were designed for New York City, Beijing, Paris, London, Hong Kong and Mexico City, among other cities. Each project is represented through scale models ranging from two to ten feet in height. For Tall Buildings, the curators examine the technological, urban and programmatic innovations in skyscrapers designed within the last decade. Several proposals for the World Trade Center are included as well as relevant drawings and models from the Museum’s collection. The exhibition runs from July 16-September 27, 2004.
