Block 2 design competition showcased in week-long public exhibition
Open until June 12, an Ottawa exhibition showcases the 12 shortlisted designs for Block 2.
The Block 2 design competition public exhibition has launched this week, running until June 12, 2022.
Following an extensive prequalification process, twelve architectural teams were invited to submit design proposals, with six finalists were invited to develop their designs.
The winning design was recommended to the department by an independent jury and announced by the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister of Public Services and Procurement in May 2022. The design competition was endorsed by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC).
The renewal of Block 2 is a piece of PSPC’s Long Term Vision and Plan for the Parliamentary Precinct. This city block brings forward new vitality to a significant part of Confederation Boulevard, transforming this mix of buildings into a complex that will meet the needs of Parliament and the public now and into the future.
