The Artist Project Toronto 2010

The Artist Project Toronto celebrates and showcases the talents of Canadian and international independent artists. Now in its third year, the show returns to Toronto at a new location, the Modernist-styled Queen Elizabeth Building at Toronto’s Exhibition Place. The Artist Project is a meeting ground for artists, collectors and art enthusiasts. View and purchase original art from over 175 carefully juried contemporary artists and enjoy an eclectic program of talks, special features and art installations. First-time buyers and seasoned collectors will find that this four-day art fair is a rare opportunity to meet, learn and purchase directly from independent artists.

The show runs from March 4 to 7, 2010, with the opening-night party taking place from 7:00pm to 10:00pm on Thursday, March 4. Be among the first to purchase and view original works of art from top independent artists.  Enjoy an evening of art, music, and decadent treats. A portion of the ticket proceeds from the party will be donated to SKETCH, a charitable organization that creates art-making opportunities for young people who are street-involved and homeless, or who are considered to be at risk. After 10:00pm, the party will continue around the corner at the Drake Hotel, located at 1150 Queen Street West. Enjoy cocktails and conversation long into the night – come early and stay late.

Special features include an emerging artist competition, the Queen competition, the interactive exhibition entitled Video ArtBox and the popular Art Chat series, which is complimentary with admission.

Admission is $12 for adults, and $8 for students and seniors. Children under 12 years of age get in free. Free re-admission. For the opening night preview (open to those 19 years of age and older), tickets are $25.
