Where will my post appear online?

Your post will be distributed across the websites of our built environment: canadianarchitect.com, building.ca and canadianinteriors.com.

How long will my content appear on CanadianArchitect.com, Building.ca and CanadianInteriors.com?

Indefinitely.

Is there e-newsletter inclusion in this?

Yes. Your post will be included in the A+Dwire section in all three e-newsletters – Canadian Architect, Building and Canadian Interiors.

Is there social media inclusion in this?

Yes. Your post will be distributed across 9 social media channels – Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn or all three audiences of Canadian Architect, Building and Canadian Interiors.

Which A+Dwire package option is right for me?

A+Dwire offers two different posting package options – On-demand, single post or an Annual plan.

On-demand, single post:
Users will purchase a posting each time they want to post.

Annual plan:
Users will be able to post their content at any time for a period of one year from the date of purchase. *unlimited postings – with volume/frequency at the discretion of A+Dwire to protect against abuse/overuse.

If you plan on posting multiple items throughout a one year period – the Annual Plan may be more cost effective and convenient (as you will not have to process payment each time that you want to post).

How do I start?

  1. Visit A-Dwire.com and click the “Get Started” button.
  2. Register
  3. Select a package

What payment options are available?

You have two options for payment:

    • Invoice – choose the ‘Please invoice’ option and an invoice will be emailed to you immediately. Once your order is approved, you’ll be able to post your content.
    • Credit Card – choose the Credit Card option, pay online and begin posting immediately.

When can I start creating my posts?

If you paid by credit card – Immediately! If you selected the invoice option, your order will be approved within 24 hours.

I purchased the annual package. Will I be notified to renew?

Yes. All customers will be emailed a renewal form at least one month prior to the expiry date.

What type of content can I post?

It’s up to you. You can post any type of content to A+Dwire. Here are some examples:

  • Blog posts (reposted from your site or blog)
  • Video/Multimedia posts (embedded

Can I post content for different brands under one Company account?

Yes, you can post content for multiple brands that are a part of your company. The byline for your post will be the Company Name that you registered with, but the content of your post can be for one of the various brands that your company represents.

For the post, can we work on it directly with you or would we just go ahead and add the post ourselves?

Both – most clients add their posts themselves or if they need assistance, our production team is happy to help.

I’m ready to add a post. What do I do?

  1. Login to A-Dwire.com.
  2. Go to your Dashboard.
  3. Click the Add Post button.
  4. Start creating your post.

What can I include within a post?

You may include formatted text, images, photo galleries, web links, email links and videos within a post.

Can I copy and paste text from a Word file?

Absolutely. Simply select your copy and paste it into the desired location in the post.

What is the ‘Excerpt’ field in a post?

The Excerpt field is used to display a short description of your post. This field is optional.

Where does the ‘Excerpt’ text appear in a post?

The Excerpt text will appear below the post title.

Do I have to include a Feature Image?

Yes. The feature image is mandatory. It will display on the websites and be used in the e-newsletters and social media posts.

What size should my Feature Image be?

  • Must be a minimum of 800 pixels wide and a minimum of 440 pixels high.
  • Should not exceed 1.2 MB file size.
  • For optimal view, vertical images are not recommended.

Can I format my text within the post description?

Yes. Use the various tools within the editor toolbar to customize the appearance of your post description.

Can I create links to external content within the post description?

Yes. Simply select the text or image you wish to link and click the ‘Create Link’ button in the editor toolbar.

What size should my images be within a post?

For optimal viewing, images should be a minimum of 800 pixels wide and a minimum of 440 pixels in height. Image resolution should be 72 dpi.

I want to add a full-width image within the post description. What do I do?

  1. Place your cursor in the spot you wish the image to appear.
  2. Click the ‘Add Media’ button.
  3. Click the ‘Select Files’ button. Choose your image to upload.
  4. Optional: Enter a Caption for the image.
  5. Click the ‘Insert Media’ button.

I want to have an image and text beside it. How do I do that?

You may wrap your text on either the left or right side of an image. This is called inset left or inset right.

  1. Place your cursor at the beginning of a block of text that you would like wrapped around your image – ideally, this should be at the beginning of a paragraph.
  2. Click the ‘Add Media’ button.
  3. Click the ‘Select Files’ button. Choose your image to upload.
  4. Optional: Enter a Caption for the image.
  5. Click the ‘Insert Media’ button.
  6. Click the image within the post.
  7. On the image toolbar, click the wrapping option you prefer: Left or Right.

I’m ready to add a photo galley. How do I do that?

  1. Place your cursor in the spot you wish the photo gallery to appear. This should be on its own line in the post.
  2. Click the ‘Add Media’ button.
  3. Click ‘Create Gallery’.
  4. Click the ‘Upload Files’ tab.
  5. Click ‘Select Files’.
  6. Navigate to your images on your computer. Select multiple images by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard while clicking each image you wish to include in the photo gallery.
  7. Click the ‘Create a New Gallery’ button.
  8. Change the ‘Size’ dropdown menu to ‘Publisher Middle’.
  9. Click the ‘Insert Gallery’ button.

How do I add a link to an image?

  1. Click the image within the post.
  2. On the editor toolbar, click the ‘Create Link’ button.
  3. Enter your link.

Can I go back and change a full-width image to an inset left or right image with text wrapping?

Absolutely.

  1. Click the image within the post.
  2. On the image toolbar, click the wrapping option you prefer: Left or Right.

Can I add a video to my post?

Yes. You may embed a video within your post description. Your video should already be hosted on a service, such as YouTube.

  1. Copy the video embed code from YouTube.com or Vimeo.com.
  2. In the post description, place your cursor in the spot you wish the video to appear. This should be on its own line in the post.
  3. Paste the embed code (keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + V) in the post. The video will appear as a gray box within the post.

How do I get the video embed code from YouTube?

  1. Go to your video on YouTube.com.
  2. Click the Share button.
  3. Select ‘Embed’.

How do I get the video embed code from Vimeo?

  1. Go to your video on Vimeo.com.
  2. Click the Share button.
  3. Select ‘Embed’.

Can I preview my post before it goes live?

Yes. Simply click the ‘Save Draft and Preview’ button.

Can I save my post and finish it later?

Absolutely. Simply click the ‘Save Draft and Preview’ button.

I need to make a change to an existing post. How do I do that?

  1. Go to your Dashboard.
  2. Click the ‘Edit’ button on the post you wish to modify.
  3. Make any changes necessary to your post.
  4. Save the post.

I’ve finished creating my post. How do I make it live?

Simply click the ‘Submit for Approval’ button. Your post will be sent to the A+Dwire administrators for review and approval.
