TELUS unveils Toronto’s first corporate urban community garden
Earlier this month during National Environment Week, TELUS unveiled Toronto’s first corporate urban garden to generate fresh, local organic produce for charitable organizations in the Greater Toronto Area and TELUS team members. Distinguished guests attended the launch at TELUS House Toronto, a LEED Gold-certified development in the downtown core, and learn about the extensive sustainability work undertaken to bring this garden to life.
The curator gave a rooftop garden tour, allowing visitors to discover TELUS’s best practices in sustainability along with details about how TELUS plans to offer employees hands-on educational workshops to help advance their health and wellness.
As a part of TELUS’s commitment to the community, the TELUS Toronto Community Board presented a cheque to Green Thumbs Growing Kids – a Greater Toronto Area-based non-profit registered charity that works with underprivileged urban children, youth and their families to teach them about growing and preparing fresh foods in an environmentally sustainable manner.
