Cette exposition est présentée sous le commissariat d’Alain Stanké, auteur, éditeur, producteur et sculpteur et de Maxime-Alexis Frappier, architecte notamment du CADD.

Ce corpus d’œuvres, jamais dévoilé au public, a été réalisé par le célèbre architecte français tout au long de sa prolifique carrière. Alors qu’il réalisait de grands ensembles architecturaux dans les grandes capitales du globe, nous découvrons que son violon d’Ingres était la peinture. Ses tableaux, œuvres fortes et denses, laissent deviner, en filigrane, une figuration émergente et assumée, ayant pour thèmes de prédilection l’architecture, le sport et la nature.Ses tableaux sont une ode à la couleur dans son acception la plus haute.

L’exposition Volumes et lumière met en parallèle ses deux passions dont l’influence réciproque est mise en valeur par une scénographie en deux temps : ses œuvres architecturales et ses œuvres peintes se répondant, comme les deux faces d’une même médaille.

Un documentaire inédit d’Alain Stanké, réalisé avec M. Taillibert entre Paris et Saint-Sauveur, sera présenté au public. M. Taillibert s’y révèle sans artifices et nous fait partager souvenirs et anecdotes de son enfance à aujourd’hui.

The 7th Active House Symposium will be held for the first time in North America in Toronto on September 16- 17 at Evergreen Brick Works. Active House is an European building practice that is based on a balanced and holistic approach to building design and performance.

The vision of Active House is to encourage buildings that create healthier and more comfortable lives for their occupants without negative impact on the climate- moving towards a cleaner, healthier and safer world. The vision defines highly ambitious long-term goals for the future building stock. It proposes a target framework for how to design and renovate buildings that contribute positively to human health and well-being by focusing on the indoor and outdoor environment and the use of renewable energy. The building is evaluated on the interaction between 3 core principles: Comfort – the indoor climate conditions, Energy consumption and impact on the Environment. The event will bring together industry professionals to cultivate an arena of conversations and education surrounding sustainable building design.

There will be up to 10 hours of Continuing Education and OAA structured learning credits available for the attendees. For more information and to register at activehouse.ca
