Supercrawl this September in Hamilton

Supercrawl is an annual free outdoor festival of art, music and performance that takes place on Friday and Saturday, September 13-14, 2013 on James Street North in Hamilton, Ontario. Spectacular, interactive art and performance installations await you; circus troupes, flashmobs and moving sculptures will impress audiences of all ages.

Supercrawl began in 2009 as an extension of a monthly art gallery crawl and has grown into a multi-disciplinary cultural festival that last year attracted over 80,000 people.

The art component features spectacular installations and performances by artists from Hamilton and across North America, such as Quebec’s enfants terribles BGL and Brooklyn’s Jason Krugman.

Other artists from the curated component are Hamilton’s Roy Caussy, Burlington Slam project, Sarah Beck & Shlomi Greenspan, Connor Bennett & Kearon, Roy Taylor, Alexa Hatanaka & Patrick Thompson, Erika James and Elinor Whidden, as well as Circus Orange, Zacada and much more.

Supercrawl was initiated by a team of artists and community builders who wanted to see the monthly art crawl expand into a full scope of cultural experiences, including music. The festival has won Hamilton Tourism Awards in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and in 2012 organizers Pim into Potocic and Dane Pedersen were recognized for their work on the festival.
