On Tuesday, June 10, 2014, join the ALSO Collective in collaboration with Toronto Design Offsite Festival for the second annual #StufDsgnrsMake silent auction, happening at the Gladstone Hotel. In addition to #StufDsgnrsMake, ALSO Collective curates an exhibition that explores the common ground of making in art and design. The exhibit presents works of various media also available through the auction.
Designers make. Artists make. Art and Design for the most part run parallel to one and other, markets remain separated, processes and dialogues remain distant, ideas—regardless of similarity—remain shrouded in domain specific language that maintain the boundaries. At some point the paths diverged and labels took precedence over the stuff we make. What might happen if the two found common ground, if they were experienced without the designations that brace the borders?

The silent auction takes place on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 6:00-10:00pm (bidding ends at 9:00pm). The exhibition is open from 12:00 noon to 5:00pm daily from June 6-10, 2014.
Admission is $5 at the door; come out and support art and design in Toronto by building your collection. All auction proceeds will go towards the production of the 5th annual Toronto Design Offsite Festival. They accept payment by cash or credit card. The Gladstone Hotel is located at 1214 Queen Street West.
