Morphopolis ideas competition winners announced

The Morph.o.polis organization is pleased to announce the winners of the first edition of its call for ideas under the theme “Reconvert Montreal.”

Team no.25 «Entremise» won first place following the deliberations of the jury, which met on 25 February. The winning project stood out for its innovative approach focusing on social innovation and its reflection on the smart city.

All the winners of this first edition of MORPHOPOLIS are as follows:

First place :

The team no. 25 «Entremise» composed of Jonathan Lapalme (Master of Science (M.S.) | Design and Urban Ecologies), Philippe Asselin (Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, University of Montreal) and Mallory Wilson (Masters in Heritage Conservation, University of Montreal).

Second place:

Team no.42 «Terra Machina» composed of Jean-François St-Onge (co-founder of ADHOC architects), Mathieu Belen (State Architect graduated from the National Superior School of Architecture of Grenoble, France), Sarah Lanoue (M.Arch Laval University) and Alexander Hamlyn (M.Arch Laval University).

Team no.38 «Agro.polis» composed of Kevin Levesque (M.Arch University of Montreal), Hugo Sévigny (M.Arch University of Montreal) and Marc-Antoine Bourbeau (M.Arch University of Montreal).

People’s Choice Award:

Team no.52 «Pump it up» composed of Marie-Andrée Groleau (M.Arch Laval University), Pascale Bornais-Lamothe (M.Arch Laval University), Lysanne Garneau (M.Arch Laval University) and Vincent Deslauriers ( M.Arch Laval University).

Over fifty teams expressed interest to participate in the Morph.o.polis Call for Ideas and in the end, 35 architects, students, engineers and professionals in design and other disciplines submitted their proposals. The following persons sat on the jury:

Stephan Chevalier, associate architect (Chevalier Morales Architects), Micheline Clouard, associate landscape architect (VLAN Paysages), Bruno Demers, sociologist and entrepreneur (RénoCyclage), Guillaume Martel, LEED coordinator (Provencher + Roy), and Daniel Pearl, associate architect (L’OEUF).
