Morph-o-polis Montreal ideas competition launches

Screen Shot 2016-02-11 at 6.40.43 PMMORPH • O • POLIS is a call for ideas that invites Montreal designers, professionals and students in the fields of planning and development to reflect upon the future of Montreal by addressing the transformation of its existing structures responsible and sustainable manner.

The competition is an opportunity to be part of a co-creative experience across our city and an opportunity to share and develop innovative solutions. Proposals will be submitted to the Office de Consultation Publique de Montreal (OCPM) to be incorporated this spring into a report for the city of Montreal. Participants will also have the opportunity to present their work on March 20th in the culminating event held by the OCPM for the VERTMTL public consultation.

Montreal Climate Coalition is a group of many organizations that fights for a carbon neutral city. The Coalition believes that Montreal has the potential to be a leader in the climate issues. With this process, the Coalition would like to see  improvements in Montreal citizen’s quality of life and to bring ideas on how we could reduce our energy consumption.

How can we make Montreal an attractive city, how can we humanize the city? How can we convert existing structures and buildings responsibly and sustainably? Between buildings and urban planning, how can we adapt our architectural heritage to an healthier lifestyle using less resources and energy?

The deadline to register is Feburary 19, and the deadline for the submission of entries is February 24.
