Architects, builders, designers, and students worldwide are invited to participate in this competition to develop new award-winning designs for bamboo buildings, to raise awareness of the use of certified structural bamboo for building code-approved structures, and to introduce architects, designers and builders to working with bamboo as a structural material.
The competition is designed for winners in many categories. First prize $5,000, second prize is $3,000, and third prize is $2,000. Finalists will be announced on the competition website, and will also enjoy a free stay in a bamboo resort house in Maui, Hawaii. Winning designs will be announced in international publications, and may be included in an upcoming book on bamboo buildings.
December 31, 2006 is the registration deadline, and January 15, 2007 is the submission deadline. Entries must be submitted by FTP or by e-mail.
