Stantec Architect Appointed Director of RAIC Educational Program

Jay Hiscox, MOAQ, MRAIC, LEED AP, an Associate in Stantec Architecture’s Vancouver office has been appointed director of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) Syllabus Program. Hiscox will administer the program and participate in a comprehensive review and renewal of curriculum and program standards. The Syllabus Program is a long-recognized alternative path to meet the educational requirements for registration as an architect in Canada.

In 2003, the RAIC created a task group to review the RAIC Syllabus program and develop a vision and business case the will allow the program to meet the educational demands of the 21st century. Short-term goals for the program include expansion of its national presence into Quebec and eastern Canada, and the integration of foreign-trained professionals into the Canadian labour market.

Hiscox is a graduate of McGill University’s School of Architecture, having also received formative education at the Technische Universitt Wien (Vienna) and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
