SPICE: Call for Entries
Architecture for Humanity New York and Jennifer MacFarlane, a NYC-based photojournalist are organizing a photography show and anonymous silent auction to aid the organizations’ building work in South East Asia.
They are asking people from all walks of life, including architects, to submit one 5″ x 7″ photo under the theme of SPICE that celebrates the culture, colour, sights and sounds of the region and areas affected (Adaman and Nicobar Islands, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Kenya, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Somalia, Tanzania, Thailand and Vietnam). Please accompany the photo submission with a brief biography, sharing stories and feelings of time spent in Asia and of friends made.
SPICE will run from January 27th to February 7th at the ABC No Rio Gallery in downtown NYC with an opening reception on the evening of the 27th. During the run of the show, all the photos will be displayed without labels but a list of all those participating will accompany the photos. The auction will be held on the evening of February 9th at a gallery to be announced. At the end of the bidding, the names of the photographers will be revealed a traveling backpacker, a person from the region, an award-winning architect or a world-class photographer.
