“Catapult: Launching Canadian Design to the World” is an exhibition of seven of Canada’s product and furniture design firms to be held at this year’s IIDEX/NeoCon Canada Expo and Conference for the Design and Management of Interior Environments. The special exhibition was launched under the auspices of the federal government’s Department of Canadian Heritage, International Investment and Trade Branch, Trade Routes Program. Curated by Esther Shipman, “Catapult” features the work of Crinion Associates of Toronto, Designlines Canada of Vancouver, Gad Shaanan Design of Montreal, KARO Design of Vancouver, Kerr & Company of Toronto, Michel Dallaire Design Industriel of Montreal and Scot Laughton Design of Toronto. Clients who have invested in the design process are also featured, ranging from large, internationally-recognized manufacturers with extensive product and distribution resources to small, niche-market firms.
