SAS Canada art contest to award $8,000 to art/design student
SAS Canada is holding a contest to celebrate the opening of its new headquarters in downtown Toronto, designed by the Norr Partnership. Art and design students at Greater Toronto Area (GTA) universities and colleges are invited to submit proposals for a two-piece, two-dimensional artwork to be displayed at SAS Canada’s new Canadian corporate headquarters lobby, located on 280 King Street East.
All submissions must be focused on the theme of integration of technology and innovation with one of the following subjects: corporate responsibility, environmental respect or community involvement.
“The artwork will reflect the spirit of our new headquarters, highlighting a harmony between technology and the environment and our commitment to being an active member in the South East downtown community,” said Carl Farrell, President of SAS Canada.
SAS’ new headquarters, scheduled to open in November 2005 will feature the latest advancements in environmental and architectural design, allowing it to become the first commercial building in Toronto to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified. SAS has also committed itself to being an active member of the South East downtown community and is dedicated to providing further investment into the area for the development of neighborhood betterment projects.
