rePlan and planningAlliance win a Canadian Institute of Planners Award
rePlan and planningAlliance have announced that one of their most innovative projects, the Thompson Economic Diversification Working Group (TEDWG) Process, has been chosen to receive the Canadian Institute of Planners 2014 Award for Planning Excellence in the New and Emerging Planning Initiatives category.
rePlan and planningAlliance facilitated the community engagement and technical planning component of the TEDWG Process, along with Nichols Applied Management, Associated Engineering and On Three Communication Design. The TEDWG Process has emerged as a best practice in both procedural and technical capacity building to ensure local stakeholders can fully engage in planning for the long-term sustainability of their community.
The Thompson Economic Diversification Working Group was established in May 2011 to identify strategic priorities in areas such as housing, education and training, economic development, regional planning and municipal governance for the Thompson Region in Northern Manitoba.
The Canadian Institute of Planners annual Awards for Planning Excellence honour planning projects judged on their excellence, innovation, impact on the profession, implementation potential and overall presentation.
