Registration now open for AAA’s 2018 Banff Session
Every two years, the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA) hosts a conference that brings speakers from around the globe to share ideas, innovation and ingenuity. Taking place in the breathtaking remoteness of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Banff Session offers an arena of open dialogue that is unencumbered by workplace pressures and distractions. This year, the conference returns on May 11 & 12.
Registration for the 2018 Banff Session is now open, with early bird pricing —which offers a savings of $100 — available until March 15. This year, the biennial Banff Session will also host the 2018 Prairie Design Awards, which recognize architectural excellence from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
Every two years, The Alberta Association of Architects, The Saskatchewan Association of Architects and The Manitoba Association of Architects celebrate those setting new standards of creativity and skill in architecture and interior design. This tri-provincial collaboration has been recognizing design excellence since its inauguration in 2000.

The biennial Banff Session also provides an opportunity for those involved in the practices of architecture and interior design to discuss their work, ideas, beliefs and attitudes in an arena of open dialogue in a unique context unencumbered by the everyday pressures and activities of the workplace. The conference has historically been attended by a full house of approximately 450 architects, interior designers, academics and students from all parts of Canada and the United States.
According to the AAA, Banff Session 2018 will focus on the theme of ‘the creatives,’ which will explore where creativity comes from and some of the unexpected sources of inspiration that exist all around us – people, the arts, technology and the unexpected.
