RAIC offers six Veronafiere sponsorships
For the seventh year, the RAIC is again offering a unique international professional development opportunity of scholarships for six member architects to participate in the popular course at Veronafiere and Marmomacc, from September 23-27, 2013 in Verona and Milan, Italy.
Scholarships cover tuition, meals, accommodations, local transportation and registration fees. Those selected will be responsible for travel costs to and from Verona.
The program is a unique combination of classroom lectures, guided architectural tours, and field trips to local quarries, as well as to natural stone processing facilities.
The 2013 edition will include visits to a nearby Breccia Pernice quarry and stone processing plant, an architectural tour of Verona, case studies of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas and the Canadian Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg, sessions on sustainable stone design, and a day-long visit of Fila Industria Chimica’s headquarters and laboratory.
Candidates must submit a résumé and one-page cover letter (maximum) demonstrating their interest in designing with stone in their practice and how the scholarship will strengthen their career as an architect, by July 10, 2013. Participants will earn 22 structured/core credits.
