RAIC Congress on Architecture to Focus on Climate Change

Sheila Watt-Cloutier, Wanda Dalla Costa, and Seth Klein feature among speakers for October 4th event.

The inaugural RAIC Congress on Architecture will take place virtually on October 4th, coinciding with World Architecture Day. Hosted online through Zoom, this conference will address the themes of Climate Action and Architecture in Canada.

Speakers include Sheila Watt-Cloutier, an advocate for environmental, cultural and human rights and a Nobel Prize nominee; Wanda Dalla Costa, principal of the Tawaw Architecture Collective and founding director of the Indigenous Design Collaborative; Cristina Gamboa, chief executive officer of the World Green Building Council; Dr. Harriet Harriss, Dean of the Pratt Institute School of Architecture; and Seth Klein, author of A Good War: Mobilizing Canada for the Climate Emergency (ECW Press, 2020).

The Congress will conclude with a panel discussion on climate action, and a World Café dialogue. Continuing education certificates for 5 (five) hours will be issued to participants after completing the feedback survey–through the RAIC Learning Management System (RAIC LMS).
