The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) has announced two Call for Papers for the 2018 PCI Convention & National Bridge Conference, which will occur from February 20 to 24, 2018 in Denver, Colorado.

Founded in 1954, PCI is the technical institute for the precast concrete structures industry. PCI develops, maintains, and disseminates the body of knowledge for designing, fabricating, and constructing precast concrete structures. PCI provides technical resources, certification for companies and individuals, continuing education, as well as conducts research and development projects, conventions, conferences, awards programs and much more.

PCI members include precast concrete manufacturers, companies that provide products and services to the industry, precast concrete erectors, and individual members such as architects, consultants, contractors, developers, educators, engineers, materials suppliers, service providers, and students.

The General Topics Call for Papers seeks papers and conference presentations on topics related to materials, design, production, or erection of precast or precast, prestressed concrete products under the two general themes of building construction and bridge construction.

The Nanotechnology Call for Papers is seeking papers and conference presentations are solicited on topics related to nanotechnology, specifically, technologies that would contribute to enhancement of material mechanical properties, enhancement of durability, enhancement of repair techniques, or creation of intelligent concrete that would have application in the precast and precast, prestressed concrete industries.

Papers presenting innovative techniques are highly desirable. Abstracts must be 200 words or less, and papers will be invited after abstract peer review. The deadline for the General Topics category is April 15, 2017. Nanotechnology abstracts must be submitted by June 1, 2017.
