Planning the Big Event: Lessons from London and Rio for Toronto

As we count down to the Toronto Pan/Parapan American Games, what are the lessons from other cities which welcomed the world?  How can new venues and infrastructure be planned to maximize community benefits and reduce disruption? What happens after the big event?

Participate in an evening with Jason Prior, the master designer of the London Olympics and designer for the Rio Olympics. He will share his emerging vision for Rio along with his experience transforming an underdeveloped area of East London into a host site for the Games. Jason Prior is chief executive of Buildings + Places at AECOM. The session will be moderated by Mike Williams, General Manager, Economic Development, City of Toronto.

The event takes place on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Koffler House, located at 569 Spadina Avenue in Toronto.
