Peter Busby named Member of the Order of Canada
Vancouver architect Peter Busby has been appointed to the Order of Canada, the country’s highest honour for lifetime achievement and service, by Governor General Adrienne Clarkson. Busby has long been regarded as the "Founding Father" of the sustainable design movement in Canada with one of the largest portfolio of green projects in North America. With offices in both Vancouver and Calgary, his practice, Busby + Associates Architects, recently merged with the Chicago-based firm of Perkins + Will to form Busby Perkins + Will. Busby’s award-winning work includes the Brentwood Skytrain Station in Burnaby, BC, and the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology in Merritt, BC. He has been the recipient of many honours and accolades such as the Governor General’s Medal in Architecture and the Canadian Architect Award of Excellence.
