Nova Scotia Association of Architects celebrates 75 years

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Nova Scotia Association of Architects (NSAA). To celebrate this milestone, during the month of May the NSAA will be hosting an exceptional group of public speakers, including Ray Anderson, the “Greenest CEO in America,” and Thomas Homer-Dixon, author of the bestseller The Upside of Down: Catastrophe, Creativity, and the Renewal of Civilization.

This is a unique opportunity for the NSAA to provide a series of public events that will celebrate the achievements of Nova Scotia architects, says Eugene Pieczonka, President of the Nova Scotia Association of Architects. We are also pleased to host internationally renowned speakers who will share their experiences and views on a wide variety of topics that are sure to appeal to everyone.

The Celebrating 75 years of Architecture in Nova Scotia exhibit will be displayed throughout the month of May providing an enlightened and engaging retrospective on the profession. The exhibit will include a retrospective of the Lieutenant Governor Awards in Nova Scotia from 1986 to 2006, selected works from the School of Architecture at Dalhousie University and a series of afternoon design workshops with teams developing urban design propositions for specific areas within Halifax. The exhibit opens May 1st at the new Harbourside Gallery at Pier 21 on Marginal Road.

To conclude the month of celebrations, the NSAA will host their biannual Product Review Show. Over 65 exhibitors will showcase the latest advancements in architectural products from flooring to roofing and everything in between. The festivities will continue well into the evening with the NSAAs Friends of Architecture Dinner and Dance Gala. This is an opportunity to celebrate the profession of architecture with colleagues, other affiliated industries and all those who have contributed to the NSAAs success over the years.

The NSAA is honoured to have reached this landmark and invites all architects, colleagues and public to join in the celebrations. For more details on the events, speakers and exhibits, please visit
