Nominations now open for the 13th annual CUI Brownie Awards
The Canadian Urban Institute’s annual Brownie Awards program recognizes leadership, innovation and environmental sustainability in brownfields redevelopment across Canada. Working with key industry and professional organizations, the Canadian Urban Institute (CUI) presents its awards at the annual Canadian Brownfields conference, held each year in the fall.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 awards. To nominate a project/policy/program, please download the guide and nomination form from www.canadianbrownfields.ca/brownies/, and return your completed application to [email protected] by August 30, 2013.
All submissions will be considered by the CUI Brownie Awards jury, which is comprised of representatives from 10 professional and industry associations. In addition to the Canadian Urban Institute and Canadian Brownfields Network, the jury includes representatives from the Canadian Institute of Planners/Ontario Professional Planners Institute; Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario; Federation of Canadian Municipalities; Ontario Association of Architects; Natural Resources Canada, NRU Publishing Inc., Professional Engineers Ontario, and ReNew Canada.
The jury selects finalists and winners in seven categories, and also awards three best-in-class Brownies. Finalilsts will be announced in September 2013. The awards will be presented at the CUI Brownie Awards ceremony and gala dinner that will be held this year on October 23, 2013 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto in conjunction with the Canadian Brownfields conference.
