New Music Room for Corpus Christi College, Oxford University

Founded in 1517, Corpus Christi College is one of the 39 colleges of the University of Oxford. The uses of the current music room, designed in 1986 by Geoffrey Beard of the Oxford Architects Partnership, has exceeded the original concept and has become a vital space for performances and conferences. The college has decided that the size of the current building is no longer sufficient and plans to build a new auditorium/lecture theatre in its place to accommodate between 120 and 150 people. The selected design will be innovative and will focus on flexibility with operational and energy efficiency.

February 17, 2006 is the deadline for expressions of interest; March 17, 2006 is the date scheduled for the site visit; and interviews and presentations will take place on May 26, 2006. The competition is open to all registered architects.
