The goal of this competition for the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw is to enable it to perform several key roles by attracting the widest possible group of visitors, as well as by facilitating positive relations between the public and the world of art and culture exemplified by their paramount achievements. It will stage major artistic events and creative endeavours to attract multiple visitors from Poland and other countries, as well as hosting exhibitions of Polish, modern, and contemporary (post-1989) art presented in its international context. The Museum intends to become a popular meeting spot, and a place to spend leisure time throughout the year.
First prize is 160,000 (PLN); second prize is 120,000 (PLN); third prize is 100,000 (PLN); and 10 honourable mentions will each be awarded 80,000 (PLN).
The submission deadline is February 28, 2006; verification of finalists will be announced March 20, 2006.
