Moved to Care International Design Competition

This international two-stage competition is open to design professionals, architects, architecture/design graduates and architecture/design students, and solicits the design a health-care facility that is safe, secure and can be relocated with relative ease. It should contain at least the following: a clean sterile environment for small surgical procedures; temperature-controlled space for storing medicinal drugs; an area for nursing care and provision of information on well-being topics; basic wash, toilet and kitchen facilities. The design should demonstrate sensitivity to the tropical surroundings and where possible provide a sustainable solution. The jury will be looking for projects that attempt to keep capital and maintenance costs low in order to increase the potential of multiple projects being realized.

In the professional category, one project will be selected as the winning design. Building Trust International will seek to find funding and planning for the winning project giving it the opportunity to influence the future of health-care facilities in Asia. In the student category, one winning project will be selected and will receive $100.

The registration deadline is January 31, 2014, followed by a submission deadline of February 28, 2014.
