Mentoring opportunity for GTA architects

Could you make a difference by mentoring an architect who has immigrated to Toronto? The Mentoring Partnership is an award-winning program of the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council that pairs skilled immigrants with mentors in their professional fields. Mentors provide crucial support as their mentees search for employment—not only guidance and motivation, but industry insights, a deeper understanding of Canadian workplace culture, and an enhanced professional network.

The program is looking for leaders in architecture to volunteer as mentors in the GTA. They currently have 14 mentees with architectural backgrounds looking for their match. Mentoring is a great way of giving back to the professional community, but it also offers valuable opportunities. Mentors have access to free professional development opportunities and the support of their own mentoring coach.

The commitment is manageable—only 24 hours over four months. Best of all, mentors can use the experience to develop their career and position themselves for success in the workplace. Ninety-two percent of mentors report that they now communicate and work more effectively with colleagues from diverse cultures.
