Taking place on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 9:00am to 4:00pm at Wanuskewin Heritage Park, Literally Placemaking is a conference for Saskatchewan’s local leaders to help attendees examine how to act on intentions to build more sustainable and inclusive communities. The event features keynote presentations by Candace Savage, author of A Geography of Blood, winner of a Governor General’s Award; Gail Bowen, author of the Joanne Kilbourn mystery series and numerous plays, who will be speaking about Community and Culture; and Jennifer Cockrall-King, a Canadian food journalist and author of Food and the City: Urban Agriculture and The New Food Revolution.
Workshops sessions include: Walkable & Bikeable neighbourhoods with Daniel Fuller; Managing Growth with Cheeying Ho; Inclusive Schools with C. Richard King and Don Cochrane; and Living Wage with Seth Klein.
