LAMP’s Lighting Design Competition call for entries

Are you ready to get your LAMP on? The “Lighting Architecture Movement Project” (LAMP) is preparing for its second annual international lighting design competition and is sending out a call for entries to designers worldwide to participate. The design event will be held this November in Vancouver, Canada and the deadline for entries is on August 15, 2014.

The LAMP event is offering participants the opportunity to exercise their talents for the chance to be part of a growing must-see exhibition that connects the local community with dynamic design. The competition challenges designers to approach their lamps with the guidance of a singular word; this year’s word is “fibre.”

A jury panel of five top local designers and architects (to be announced) will base their decisions on the design’s integration of the theme, the use of sustainable material and LED lights, originality and potential for marketability, and economic manufacturing. The winner will receive a critique and review from FontanaArte’s creative director, one of LAMP’s sponsors and leaders in the lighting design industry.

The Lighting Architecture Movement Project, run by founders Annika Hagen and Nicole Fox, is a lighting design competition showcasing light and form through the lens of architectural design. Now in its second year of producing dynamic and memorable events, LAMP sets itself apart from other architectural lighting and design competitions with its unique incorporation of live elements. LAMP looks forward to growing into an internationally recognizable institution for creative minds to showcase their designs.
