KPMB to design Vaughan’s new City Hall.

The City of Vaughan, which calls itself “The City Above Toronto”, announced that the architectural firm Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects (KPMB) of Toronto has been chosen to design the City’s new Civic Centre. The proposed plan includes a series of low-rise buildings to create a multifunctional civic square with a visual focus on the new four-storey city hall building at the square’s east-end, a clock tower and Council Chambers, projecting out at the front of the building. Behind the outer shell, conservation and strategies in sustainable design will make up part of their architectural approach for the new facility.
