Join Herzog & de Meuron in Vancouver
Join the Vancouver Art Gallery at the Vogue Theatre for a presentation by key figures from Herzog & de Meuron: Christine Binswanger, Senior Partner, and Simon Demeuse, Associate and Project Architect.
On October 1, 2014 at 7:00pm, the design architects of the new Vancouver Art Gallery will present the vision of their architecture firm and highlights of their previous projects. Founded in 1978, Herzog & de Meuron is internationally recognized for designs that are both highly inventive and responsive to site, geography and culture of the place for which they are conceived. Come hear what makes Herzog & de Meuron one of the world’s most lauded architectural firms as well as their initial impressions of Vancouver, followed by a public discussion.
Led by five senior partners – Jacques Herzog, Pierre de Meuron, Christine Binswanger, Ascan Mergenthaler and Stefan Marbach – Herzog & de Meuron have designed a wide range of projects, from highly recognized public facilities such as museums and stadiums to distinguished private projects, and have been awarded numerous prizes, including the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2001, and the RIBA Royal Gold Medal and the Praemium Imperiale, both in 2007.
Admission to the event is $10, or $7 for gallery members and students with valid ID. Tickets are available online at https://tickets.northerntickets.com or in person at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver.
