Did you know in the design of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce Head Quarters downtown Toronto, due consideration was given, at extra costs & man-hours by the designers, I.M.Pei & Partners, for future tall buildings in the neighborhood? At an upper level a pendulum mechanism has been installed that records the tilting, deflections, and expected movements due to wind pressures, etc. These considerations are way beyond architecture per se, and should be recognized as a noble gesture. Surely there may be more such extraordinary acts by other architects in Canada that deserve a recognition by this magazine. Thank you
