Interior Design Show 2009 begins tonight!
Taking place from February 5-8, 2009, the Interior Design Show/IDS 09 is Canada’s largest contemporary design event. Since its inception in 1998, over 500,000 design professionals, consumers and media have attended. The newest and most innovative in international and Canadian products are annually presented by 300 exhibitors. Inspirational exhibits feature both emerging and established designers, and highlight international interior design, architecture and industrial design trends. The most influential architects and designers from around the world share their design philosophies and experiences within the international keynote speakers program.
February 6, 2009 is IDS 09 Professional Trade Day, which runs from 9:00am to 7:00m. Three-hundred Canadian and international exhibitors present new products for design as well as new feature areas including the International Pavilions, LUXEHOME and Innovative Design + Technology for the Home.
Don’t miss the always popular Azure Trade Talks Series – a unique opportunity to hear and see some of the most internationally renowned designers and architects including STUDIO JOB, Belgian designers, artists and storytellers; Paris-based designer Christophe Delcourt, who will presenting his lecture in French; Dutch architect Ben van Berkel of UNstudio; and the always popular Pecha Kucha. The show also features a special experimental exhibit titled Collaborations, showcasing the creations of Bregman + Hamann Architects, Levitt Goodman Architects, and PLANT Architect, all of whom were challenged to craft a sustainable floor-to-ceiling structure using a single material. In addition, a series of great seminars on topics such as LEED, sustainable design, lighting, etc. are being offered.
IDS 09 takes place at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place, 100 Princes’ Boulevard, Toronto.
