Inside the City: View Points forum series at Harbourfront Centre

Harbourfront Centre’s View Points is a forum series that explores issues in contemporary culture and showcases current culture-makers. The series examines contexts that influence contemporary artists and communities, contexts that shape the ways in which culture is produced, viewed, consumed and discussed. It is timely, responsive and designed to stretch the definition of “culture.”

An urban centre is a special space with many faces, neighbourhoods, opportunities and challenges. Inside the City explores the inner workings of a city to provide audiences with new insights about the urban by tackling issues such as architecture, city life and politics.

Inside the City, the second installment in 2010’s three-part View Points series, happens Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00pm at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, and features Canadian architects from Harbourfront Centre’s current architecture exhibit, Community Centred. Michael McClelland and Graeme Stewart from ERA Architects Inc., Helena Grdadolnik from Public Workshop and Joe Lobko from du Toit Architects Limited will discuss their installations, exploring current practices in shaping our urban communities through architecture. The forum will be moderated by Canadian Architect magazine editor Ian Chodikoff. Admission is free.
