In Memoriam (November 01, 2005)
The unexpected passing of OAA President G. Randy Roberts occurred on Friday, September 30, 2005. This tragedy struck while he was living life to the fullest, motorcycling with friends. Randy received his Bachelor of Architecture from Carleton University and his MBA from the University of Toronto. He joined Cansult Hanscomb Projects Inc., a project management firm, as President and CEO in 2003. Throughout his career, Randy contributed enormously to his profession by volunteering at the Ontario Association of Architects. He was also committed to reaching out to the construction industry by working on various professional issues with the Ontario Realty Corporation Strategic Issues Committee and the OAA/Ministry of Health Task Group. He was elected to OAA Council in 2003 which was followed by his election as President of the OAA in January 2005. The family has expressed an interest to establish an award in Randy’s name. Condolences are extended to Randy’s partner in life, architect Diana Osborne, and to his family, friends, and colleagues.
