Model City at the AIBC Architecture Centre Gallery
The urban landscape of any city is built piecemeal, building by building, until they connect to make a cohesive whole. Each building, designed by architects in different eras with different visions and style, become part of the environment where we live our daily lives.
Exhibiting from October 27 to November 24, 2005, Model City attempts to create a similar effect on a smaller scale to illustrate the valuable role that architects play in the development and aesthetic of our surroundings and demonstrates how different architectural styles and different types of structures combine to shape the urban landscape.
Firms that have graciously contributed their models include: Acton Ostry Architects, ARTIFACT Architecture, Busby Perkins + Will Architects, Formwerks, Hewitt + Kwasnicky Architects, Marceau Evans Johnson Architects, Larry McFarland Architects, Stuart Howard Architects and more.
The AIBC Architecture Centre Gallery is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, and admission is free.
