For a growing number of Canadian architects, sustainable architecture goes beyond smart technology and energy efficiency. Instead, it is seen in the context of a broader contemporary sensibility that revisits the roots of 20th-century modernism while also drawing inspiration from regional material culture and building traditions. This exhibition presents a range of sustainable building projects by over 20 Canadian architectural practices, reflecting six different regions of Canada.
41 to 66 Regional Responses to Sustainable Architecture in Canada is curated by John McMinn and Marco Polo, and runs from November 15, 2005 to January 15, 2006 at Cambridge Galleries, Design at Riverside located at 7 Melville Street South in Cambridge, Ontario.
