Historic Windsor Arms Hotel relaunches with new entertainment offerings
On November 16, 2007, the Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto launched three new entertaining hot spots on its ground level. Designed in 1927 by Toronto architect Kirk Hyslop, the hotel was listed as an historic property by the City of Toronto in 1983, followed by an Ontario Heritage Act designation in 1992.
The Tea Room offers traditional high tea service featuring a vast selection of loose leaf teas, fresh scones, mini-sandwiches, petit-fours, and scones and clotted cream. Depending on mood, one can enjoy in the classic room just off the hotels lobby or in the adjacent space which boasts deep purple walls, a sparkling chandelier, and the buildings original 1927 fireplace.
A recent conversion from a barber shop, the new bar twenty-two exudes more intimacy with its 24 seats plus a private celebrity-style nook, featuring specialty drinks and a tapas-style menu. The French blue walls and baroque wallpaper with contemporary blue-grey patterns give this space a sophisticated ambiance, complemented by metallic leather chairs, granite bar and five twinkling crystal chandeliers.
Further into the lobby, guests can enjoy PRIME, the new steakhouse adjacent to the hotels legendary Courtyard Caf. A sense of warmth is achieved through materials such as wood, brown and cream tweed upholstery, and grasscloth wallpaper. With a menu that includes certified dry-aged 28-day prime beef, Kobe beef, organic beef and lamb from Colorado Coleman Farms, Chef Stephen Ricci prepares the steaks in an 1800-degree infrared steak broiler. Oenophiles are treated to views through the peek-a-boo windows into the wine cellar housing classic and rare wines from all over the world, and guests can also enjoy the privilege of renting a wine locker.

This luxury boutique establishement boasts 28 newly appointed luxury suites with 24-hour butler service.
