The first phase of a development that will focus on two parcels of land to the south of Toronto’s Queen’s Quay Boulevard West, called Maple Leaf Quay East and Maple Leaf Quay West, totalling about 1.7 hectares, has almost passed final approval for its design. The area in question will connect Harbourfront Centre with the Spadina Quay Wetland and Toronto’s Music Garden. Construction and development is expected to start in 2004 with completion scheduled for 2005 at a cost of $7.5 million for Phase 1.
