Green Roof Design 101

This one-day intensive introductory course takes place on December 15, 2005 in Richmond Hill, Ontario. It will teach you how to determine major functions and components of a green roof, identify the factors which influence costs, how to utilize an integrated design process in your project for maximum benefit and much more. Course instructor of Green Roofs 101 is Steven Peck, Founder and President of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities.

With the adoption of the Canadian Green Building Council LEED standard for public procurement in many municipalities across Canada, green roofs promise to play a key role in attaining many LEED credits. Green roofs now qualify for funding from Natural Resources (NRCan) through the Energy Innovators Initiative (EII), the Commercial Building Initiative Program (CBIP) and the Industrial Building Incentive Program (IBIP). Funding is based on energy savings.
