French architect douard Franois lectures in Calgary
In partnership with the Alberta Association of Architects, CAUSA presents a lecture by Édouard François at 7:00pm Wednesday, October 20, 2010, in the Engineered Air Theatre at the Epcor Centre in Calgary.
Paris-based architect Édouard François will share his work on a wide range of projects. With great interest in use, environment, project economics, and innovation of architecture, his buildings and environments of note are too numerous to list. The work of François is in the permanent collections of the Pompidou Centre and the FRAC Centre, and receives regular international exposure at institutions such as the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal, the Galerie Epreuve d’artiste in Beirut, the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Architecture Gallery in Leipzig, and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
An alumnus of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts and the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, François is a member of the association of Architectes Français à l’Export (AFEX) and the general assembly of l’Institut Français d’Architecture. François also enjoys cooking and is a collector of contemporary art.
